Lightroom will consistently lock up when I click on the print module whenever our Kodak 866' dyesub printer is installed in Windows XP. The 866' is installed via LPT.

The error I receive is complaining about module substrate.dll in lightroom.exe

This happens immediately upon a fresh install of Lightroom v 1.2, 1.3, 1.3.1, but will work fine as soon as I remove the 866' as a printer.

Any ideas? I assume this is an issue with the Kodak print driver.

Probably because it is a CYMK printer not RGB.

It's actually just CMY, no black, but point taken.

I've done some pretty serious digging around this afternoon online looking for a solution, and either everyone has already retired their older dyesub printers, or noone else is having an issue with them and LR. I suspect the former.

Our old 866' will be put out to pasture as soon as we get through the mountain of remaining media and consumables we still have.

MOst ink jets are some sort of CMYK, too, as they print, but they take RGB files and RGB profiles. Its the ones that take CMYK files and CMYK profiles, that LR is likely to balk at. LR doesn't know from CMYK.
