Hi,
I have LR 2.2, Mac 1'.5.5., and an Epson Stylus Pro 38''. I calibrated my monitor with a Pantone Huey.

I am trying to get better colors on my prints and am confused about one setting. After doing some reading here I found that, in order to access my color management and print settings, I had to go to LR info and set LR to run in 16 bit mode (did this, though I don't understand it....). That allowed me to access those settings.

What I don't understand is, having done that, how should I treat the box in Print Job settings that I can check for 16 Bit Output. Do I check it or leave it unchecked (and why?)
Thanks
Stephanie

Stephanie, no one can see the improvement of 16 bit printing over 8 bit and you need 16 bit drivers for your printer. I think that Epson's are still beta... Theorically, this should allow for smoother gradients like for subtle nuances in the sky for example. A big drawback of 16 bit is that it will slow down your printer by much! So, if you can't see the difference, why use it?

Some will say 16 bit is much better prooving it by math. OK but, this is only pixel peeping! 8)
