So I just edited a photo so good that I wanted to save it as a preset so I won't have to keep pasting settings. However when I created the preset and I clicked create, it's not showing up under the presents section? Am I missing something or is it not working for me?

Is the same image still selected? Lightroom will only show presets that can be fully applied to an image. If not, the preset will not show. If you edit a raw image, then save the edits as a new preset and select 'Treatment & Profile' in the dialog box, your preset will apply a raw profile. And that means that your preset will not show if you have a non-raw image selected (because raw profiles are not available for non-raw files).

Just learning so apologies up front ! If the edits are applied through lightroom every time you look at the RAW image ( which I understand they were ) why do you need a preset unless you are happy with the settings and want them to apply to other images ? Sorry as I say if I have missed the point .

A preset is a quick way to apply one or more edits. That means that you do not create a preset to 'save' the edits of your current image (you don't have to do that because these edits have been applied already), but so that you can apply the same edits to another image with just one click.
