Can I make pre-set brushes other than the A / B selection and if not, can I save a brush config to the A or B brush?

Michael, yes, but only one set of A/B at a time. Get A and B set the way you like, and the drop down menu beside Effect: allows you to save a custom Local Adjustment. Then the saved preset should be available for subsequent selection. Currently, the 'Soften Skin' is the default User Preset available by this mechanism. (Now back to NFL football) ....

Neat trick Brad! Do you happen to remember offhand whether you can exclude the other slider settings, so as to just save the brushes, or does it change both at once?

Brush A/B settings are global, meaning that they can't be saved as part of a custom setting (unfortunately!). If you change a brush's settings then select a saved preset or select an effect, the brushes remain as they are, regardless of whether you had different settings for either brush when you saved a preset. I've saved presets before (I made one, for example, called Brighten Eyes that combines Brightness, Saturation, Clarity) but the brush size is 'one for all' in 'real time' only.

Aah, OK, I had done a little research, and tried a quick test before responding, and it seemed to work, (and then I ran back to the big playoff game on TV), but on retrying, you're right Stas, the preset doesn't save actual brush tip parameter. Sorry, my mistake.

Reading your first response there prompted me to try it out initially Brad as it gave me an idea! I had saved presets before but never paid much attention to brush setup as I tend to adjust on the fly.

I'd say it's time for another enhancement request as it sounds like a very practical idea!! :)

Thank you all.. collectively, you have covered all the bases!!
