Hi I am having real trouble exporting jpgs of a set of beautiful pure blue skies from LR
LR is latest version, Windows 11, Prophoto colour space, 1:1 previews - images look great in LR window
Export is SRGB, 100% quality jpg, sharpen for screen-off, files size less than 300 kb
I have looked online but apart from a suggestion for max quality jpg setting, there doesn't seem to be much I can find.

Ironically after overlaying an exported jpg in the photos app over the LR develop window and taking a simple Windows screen shot - the resultant jpg gives much less banding in the sky than the LR export does.

Many thanks in advance

The portfolio site I use is very strict - so just changed export settings to 900 pixels wide and removed the limit file size to 300kb
Result seems MUCH better:
900 pix wide

Do you want to list the portfolio web site constraints..

900 pixels wide now is very restrictive. My standard, for web use, used to be 2040 pixels on the long side. Several months ago I upped this to 2500 pixels in the long side.

BTW… for jpgs … setting the compression to 80% produces much smaller images in terms of size but barely noticeable to the significantly larger 90 or 100%. Our camera club uses 80% jpgs for all club web images.

This might allow you increase the number of pixels you can use.

Also… I never let LrC work to a defined max size. Let it do the compression… if too big, try 75% or 70%..
