Tapatalk is broken now with the bot check

Had the security check this afternoon, and it added a few seconds to the tab opening.

Doh. Ok, it's on my priority list for Tuesday, barring any disasters. It's bugging me too.

I still see the security check most times I access the site. It only adds a couple of seconds but is still a bit of a nuisance.

I only use Tapatalk when I am on my phone or iPad. Accessing LrQ via a browser on those devices is still an option. It would be nice is this gets fixed, but not the end of the world if it doesn't.

If I am replying to a thread and go to another website to check information or take extra time in replying, I get the above message. I am unable to recertify my human existence from the page that returns the above message. I have to open another browser window, convince the webs site that I am human before I can refresh that page and click {Post Reply}. If I try to back into the history of that page, I lose any response I've made.

This happens to me a lot.. lost several posts... I think I stumbled on a method to recover my post .. but will need to trip again to try and remember the technique I used.

Also.. as it is high summer.. I spend min time at my desk.. and use an iPad or iPhone depending on if I am at home or out and about. So.. I am frequently changing between devices... so it seems that I need to reverify I am human for each change of device... I thought this might reduce after the weekend... but verification intensity is still on the high range.

A thought. Can the verification process be filtered such that it only applies to new accounts , while well established accounts have a much lower frequency verification requirement.

What I have stumbled upon wrt to bot management when ever the "Oops" message appears is to open another Lightroom tab. Validate my humanness in the new tab and then the validation will apply to all tabs and i don't lose my comments.

Your suggestion to only apply this to new user accounts might be a remedy but I think the validation occurs before the automated login.

Unfortunately not, as it runs before it ever reaches our servers.

Good tip!

I've heard your cries, and I'm working with the host to change the bot protection settings so you won't keep seeing the verification... it'll probably take a few days, as the various settings tend to take it in turns to break things, but I am working on it...

Ok, I've made some changes... and I'll see how things look in the morning. Let me know if you're seeing any issues overnight, but hopefully the tweaks so far will make things smoother for you.
