Every time I print a set of contact sheets I regularly get a "missed" photo (failure to print one of the pics) it is usually the first one but often I get a missed picture further on too. Anybody else had this problem?

Sorry no one has replied and I don't really know. However if you are using draft mode ensure you have rendered 1:1 previews, maybe do that anyway!!

That's a weird one. Does it leave a blank space where the photo should be, or just skip it as if it doesn't exist?

It prints the file name and leaves a space where the pic should be. Just printed a 7 page set out and it missed the first pic and then page 5 had 5 missing!
I can get round it by printing to jpeg file first and then printing these out as normal. It's just a strange one!

That's really weird. It's not one I've heard of, so report it using the Official Feature Request/Bug Report Form

just joined because I've been getting this problem too, and this the only place a google search turned anything up - can't help with the prob, as have only been using LR for a few months - but at least we can both feel no longer alone with it !
I mostly use the contact sheet for scanned 36exp film work as part of my degree course - unlike the OP, my missing image [usually only one in a 4x9 sheet] is part-way through, rather than first.
Happens with actual prints and print to PDF via PrimoPDF - but if I print the same sheet in 2 consecutive LR sessions, it's not always the same image !
[Not tried print-to-jpg, yet]
Getting a bit frustrating now as I have to submit these sheets for assesment - if I can't resolve it guess I'll have to use CS4.
