Import Pictures from Apple Ipad to Windows Lightroom?

Operating System: MS Windows 8.1
Exact Lightroom Version (Help menu > System Info): 5.7 x64

Is it possible to import or somehow transfer photos from an Ipad to Lightroom on a MS Windows platform laptop? Trying to incorporate photos taken by spouse on Ipad into Lightroom so I can meld them with pics that I took and imported from SD card from our vacay. We are old school and don't use Cloud and aren't very tech savvy, so, apologies in advance.

Welcome to the forum. If you plug the iPad into the Pausing the USB cable, I think Windows Explorer will recognise the iPad as a removable drive or as a camera. It should then show up in the LR import dialog.
