Hi All

I'm importing all my pictures from 2''8 and 2''9 from an external 1TB harddrive.
They are organized in one top-level folder which has two folders (2''8 and 2''9) which contains one folder for each day with shots (ex. 2''8-1'-'6).
Jan '8 to sep '8 goes fine, but from oct '8 the pictures are missing immediately after the import.
In fact when the thumbnails are shown in the grid view during the import they have a ?-mark in the upper right corner.
What is going wrong?
I'm using af Nikon D3'' and NEF's.

Regards Finn

Do you disconnect the drive after import? If you click a question mark icon Lightroom will show you the path to where it expects the photo to be located. What is different between that path and the actual path to the photo?

Mac or Win?

Leading blank in filename causes problem

The disc is always connected.
When I import all the pictures from a folder in the grid view Lightroom shows the thumbmails for each picture one at the time during the import. Already at this point i get the question marks.
If I click a question mark to relink I get a path to where Lightroom thinks the original is places. And that path is correct but when I try to relink Lightroom says that the chosen picture is already linked to another picture....

And during this reply I have discovered that for some reason the names of the .NEF-files I have problems with all starts with a space!!!
If I rename the files removing the leading space the problem is solved. :cheesy:

Thanks for the reply
It helped me thinking!

Regards Finn

Nice job Finn - and what a bizarre problem!
