Photoshop CS4 Forums

I am a junior member but had no trouble finding "Lightroom Forums: Forums Dedicated to the Support of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom". I've used it several times and find it easy to navigate. Its been very helpful. I've searched for a similar (graphics, ease of use) Photoshop CS4 forum but I can't find it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Hhmm, not sure I'm ready for NAPP. I'm very amateur. I've gone to the 'Adobe User to User Forum' and I've hit every light blue link there is. The links take me to one pointless site after another. (It feels like one big circle of sites without actually getting me anywhere substantive.) Again, I'm looking for a site similar to the Lightroom Forum (the one we're communicating on). Is there anything like the Lightroom Forum for CS4?

Unless someone else jumps in with an alternative Forum, the only one I know is the NAPP one. There are all kinds of Photo related Photoshop technique threads on Digital Grin, also, but it is mainly Photography oriented, not PSCS4!

Hi Don,

Thanks for staying on top of this. I guess I'm a little confused. I thought that because there was the Adobe Lightroom Forum, there must also be an Adobe CS4 Forum. Two great products with their own Forums, followings. I guess I'm a little surprised that there isn't a similar, well designed and maintained forum for CS4. (I'm new to the whole forum phenomenon. Am I missing something obvious? Is there a reason there isn't a Creative Suites Forum?)

What you may be missing is that this is a Privately own and run Forum set-up by a peron interested mainly in LR and who happened to attract a lot of LR heavy weights ( :) ). Actually Adobe Reps are members and occassionally show their presence, but this forum has no offial connection with Adobe. Unfortunately, for you, no one has stepped forward and started a similar free forum for Photoshop. there is only the NAPP one, which is not free. There was Radiant Vista, that was heavily into Photoshop (pre Lightroom), but that has gone from the web. :(

Well, that explains that! Thanks very much Don. I thought I was on an Adobe sponsored site for Lightroom users and was perplexed as to why I couldn't find a similar (i.e., very helpful) forum for CS4. I'll have to find other avenues to find objective forums for CS4.

By the way, I tried to join Digital Grin (sp?) and for as many times as I tried to fill in all the cells, I was told that one of the cells was wrong. I finally gave up. (The image for the 'security cell' [or whatever you call it] was very unclear. 'H' looked like 'N', etc. Every time it was wrong it sent me a new puzzle to figure out. Too bad: it looks like a nice site.)

Thanks James! I'll check them out. (After trying out both CS4 and LR2 using the 3' day trials, I had a few questions. This Lightroom forum is very helpful and the people on it just seem like nice people! I should get LR2 for that alone.)

It also depends on exactly what kind of use of Photoshop - if you google Photoshop Forum you'll find a whole load of forums, but they're more often used by graphic designers rather than photographers. The forums targeted at photographers often have subforums for Photoshop, which are probably going to be more helpful for you than fully Photoshop forums.

David - You can also access several excellent Photoshop specific podcasts through the iTunes site. Most if not all are free. You don't need an iPod to use them. In fact, I use them through iTunes on my computer. They are not q & a sites, but fabulous info anyhow. P.S. There are also several good Lightroom podcasts also...

Don't forget the excellent podcasts which are available for free in the iTunes store. Just do a search on "Lightroom" or "Photoshop" and you will find several good programs on each. Don't have an iPod? Doesn't matter. iTunes is a free download and gives you access to all the store content on your computer, which is the way I view the programs. I hate the little iPod screen...
