PhotoShop CS2 Actions in LightRoom

Victoria posted on another forum a link on her website that explains how you can make Droplets to run actions on your jpegs once LightRoom has finished exporting your files.

I followed the instructions and it works great on my Windows XP Machine with CS2 but nothing happens on my Vista Box. I am not getting any securty warnings, nothing happens of any kind.

Has anyone been able to get things working? Perhaps something is missing to make it work on Vista?

I hope I don't need CS3 to make this work with Vista.

Ok, first thing to check is whether the droplet's ok. Try dropping images directly on to it and see if it works. Other thing it doesn't seem to like on some systems is too long a path name for the images.

I just tried that out Vic and I got a a pop up saying CS2 has stopped working and I got the following info listed.

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: Noiseware Droplet Main.exe

Any Idea?

Hmm, ok, so we've narrowed it down to a problem with the droplet itself then. What happens if you try and run a normal batch with that action?

Try remaking the droplet then, on that machine, and on your XP machine too, just for the fun of it!

There are a few incompatibilities between CS2 and Vista, and being an older version it's not supported by Adobe. Whilst the known incompatibilities are minimal, you may have just found one!!

Have you tried making other droplets on that machine? Do they work when you drop files on them?

I just made a second one and same thing as with the other one. Does not work when I drop something on it.

But it works when I run a batch! Looks like Vista and CS2 are not playing together well...

I came across this thread while trying to figure out things for myself with droplets. Photoshop would run the droplet in a batch, but dropping an image on the droplet exe would crash Photoshop (APPCRASH) (using Vista x64).

I have a solution. Open the properties of the droplet .exe, go into the Compatibility tab, and select "run as administrator". Problem solved.

I'm having a similar problem with a droplet--it doesn't run. The actions work. I check the properties tab and there is no "run as administrator" in Win XP home.

Running CS3.

ideas?
