Been using a Fujifilm camera for a while now, but I can not now import images shot in the RAW format. Never a problem before. Same RAW format as before. After hitting Import, it takes forever to begin importing . Shortly after importing finds two or three images, it all stops Is there a workaround to avoid this problem? The images are there. I did a review of them on the camera and all seems well. Why would this format not work now?

Where are you importing from? Camera directly connected? Card Reader?

If either of the above, try copying the raw files to a temporary location on disk using Finder, then Import from there - helps to establish where the issue lies.

p.s. why still on 11.2? That's more than a year out of date (released February 2022) - lots of fixes and features added since then.

I did use a card reader. I’ll try this first step

If that doesn't work, try a new cable for the card reader
I was able to import into LR ,finally after working with Adobe and after their assertion that my older version was corrupted somehow, we managed to install the latests version of LR. but some new images are greyed out, even though the external storage drive where they are living is connected. Not sure whether I should delete those files/folders from my catalog and start importing them again or what.

Are the photos greyed-out in the Import dialogue or in the Library module? If in the Import screen, they are already imported. If in the Grid in the Library module, they have been flagged for deletion.

To follow up- it seems i had to upgrade to the latest version for my newer camera to work with LR. Now ive been able to import but the latest images can not be located- they are greyed out. Thing is- they are on the storage drive which is connected so I cabnt figure our why they are not accessible to Lightroom.

The images in the Library module have the exclamation point in the upper right corner. the hard drive where the originals are stored is connected so I dont understand what's going on . In the develop module, the message is "The file could not be found" Should I maybe delete all latest imports and begin again? Very frustrating. thank you in advance.

In the Library Module, does the folder the images are located in have a ? along side it? If so, then right-click on the folder and select "Find missing folder", then find and select that folder. If not, then click on the exclamation point and click Locate in the pop-up window (that pop-up shows where was located as far as LrC is concerned) and then find and select that file.

late reply- I eventually upgraded to latest version with assistance from Adobe. This is a new Mac U sed Migration assistant for the heavy lifting of most of my data. I also went from old HDDs , which held my photos and photo backups. The latest import did not go that well, While all thr images are on the Photo storage ssd, LR can't seem to find them and on many folders, just the thumbnails are there.

So sorry for the late reply. I was eventually able to re unite my photos with my catalog. There was only one file I couldn't sync, but the majority are back and accessible . Thank you again.

So sorry for the later reply. I was finally able to allow LR to found the phlotos and folders I was looking for. No more question marks or exclamation points to be seen. Thank you again for you assistance. Love this forum!
