Hi Everyone,
This is my first post here and I'm sorry that is one that cries out for help.
I have searched this forum for answers -- spent a couple of hours reading and doing -- even followed along as best I could the help that was offered...and cheered when someone had success...but I am still in need.
Therefore, I am writing this post.
Here's the scoop.
I am using a full version of LR2.' on Windows XP OS.
I have been using LR for about 3 months, and although I am now full of questions and ready for a 'teacher' (or class), I have had success 'processing' all photos (RAW) and exporting them as jpegs over the course of 4 weddings.
This time, to the best of my knowledge, I made no changes to any background info (metadata) -- sticking with just 'developing' the photos.
What I did do was when I was ready to export them was to try to apply the "general-punch" to the pictures while I was exporting them. I was thinking that I had seen some way to do that. I'm now not so sure. (one of my 'other' questions is how to apply 'general-punch' or sharpen to all pictures at once as it doesn't seem to work for me...but that's another post ...)
Anyway, since I leave my computer on all the time, I regularly will reboot it to freshen it's memory....and that's what I did after several unsuccessful attempts to add the punch filter on export.
When I went back into the catalog, almost all (but not all!) pictures had the question mark and told me that 'the photo was missing or offline'.
I tried clicking on the ? and 'locate' the raw picture with the same name but then it tells me that the picture with that name is 'attached' to another picture in the catalog and you can only attach it to one picture...
So I am stuck. It is the correct image that I am trying to attach it to with 'locate' but it thinks it is different.
Can I do something like copy the raw image folder and attach the pictures to it....or will that mess up everything?
Well...I think I've laid out the challenge here. All assistance welcome and appreciated!
Thank you.
