Photo focus on raw file and NOT on created dng after denoise

I must be missing something as I have posted this on Adobe's forums and really gotten no help at all.
When using LRdesktop (in local mode) I open a raw in edit, and go to denoise. After the denoise process is finished there is a dng file created, BUT the focus remains on the raw file. In LRC, when it creates the dng, the focus shifts to the created dng file. This behavior is what I would consider desirable.
I can find no way to change this. Am I just not looking at this process correctly? I constantly find myself continuing my edits on the raw not denoised file. And yes, I know it is not the actual raw file.
Why would I want to use LRdesktop in local mode over LRC? Because the last update to v14, and then 14.01 has made the program VERY slow, and is constantly loading something from the HD. It was fine before the update. The other reason is that at least for me, I find the catalog process just a big pain! I am a rather simple user so I do not need most of the things it offers. I would be fine with desktop if I could overcome the file focus issue.
So I bring my question to the knowledgeable people here in hopes you can shed some light on my issue!

Yes, I can see the same behaviour when I test using LrD in Local mode. So it's either as designed, or an implementation oversight (aka bug). I suggest you raise the issue at the Adobe community feedback forum using the "Bug Report/Feature Request" link at the top of the page. Adobe may agree it's a bug, but if not it can be changed to a feature request for Adobe's consideration.

I tested in both Cloud and Local modes. In the All Photos (Cloud) the DeNoise changes focus to the result DNG. If I do this in local mode, the focus does not change. This seems to be a bug as the behavior should be consisted whether in Local or Cloud and IMO should be the same behavior as seen in LrC.

I agree. If LRC did not change to the dng I would not have brought it up at all. I do not use LR in cloud mode so I did not know that even in the same program it is not consistent.

This is very interesting. Sounds like this would indeed make my request meaningless. Hope they do this very soon in all versions. Thanks for the info.
So I just tested this with Photoshop/ACR and yes it does work. First I tried a file without activating this feature, which did create the resulting dng file and did change the focus to that file.
Then I activated the feature, restarted Photoshop, and then selected a different file. It did not create a dng file, but the photo was obviously denoised.
Once they get this to LR, this should work for me.

One of the things I often need on a RAW file is SuperSize as well as DeNoise. Currently you can not do both on the same source file. Will that change? How about DeNoise on non RAW sources?

Lightroom Desktop was designed for the Cloud. The Local option was just an afterthought to appease some users. You appear to fit into that category of user. If you ever want to access your images on another platform, the Local option falls apart.

If you have used LrC before then understanding the non destructive nature of the app helps understand why the catalog concept is so important. Tryomy to organise by using the file system is so limiting. Smart Collections elevates LrC up to another level.

There are a lot of features in LrC than don't fit my workflow. The Map, Book, Slideshow and Web modules I never touch. Just learning to use the other modules in the right way and LrC ceases to be a "pain".

I was somewhat happily using LRC, but something changed in this last update. Look at the forums at Adobe, many complaints of how much disk activity and generak slowness is happening after the v14 (and 14.01) updates. LR is also non-destructive so I do not see the advantage of one over the other there.
