Great to learn more about you guys! :)

I'm Petra. I live in northern Sweden (close to the arctic circle) with my Canadian husband and our two Siamese cats, Sam and Suzy.

I've been a Mac geek since 1986, when I first played with a Mac, then in february 1987 I could take a loan to afford my first own Macintosh (SE). I've been working in the graphics buisness since 198' (crap I'm old!) and started working as a repro photographer then. Later I added on some other skills, went to school and studied business and graphic design.

I've always photographed. I even dreamt about becoming a photographer, but here in Sweden (at that time) you had to have school grades matching the ones to apply to medical school to become a photographer. So I flunked (and that's why I started in the graphics business). My frist digital camera I picked up 1999 and the summer of 2''5 was the first time I charged to shoot - shooting weddings.

I don't shoot many weddings and I don't work full time as a photographer. I don't work full time as a graphic designer either. I actually do little of everything! I translate books for a Swedish publisher and most of the books I translate are written by Scott Kelby (I'm currently working on the Photoshop CS3 book for digital photographers). I also write articles about Photoshop and photography in the Swedish MacWorld magazine and my next assignment will be key commands in Photoshop CS3 - not my strongest side, but I learn more and more to use key commands.

I started using Lightroom almost as soon as it was out in a first beta, I posted very little on the old Lightroom forum at Adobe and that earned me a thanks when the full version was released.

The stuff I know about Lightroom I've picked up from the NAPP site as well as from Victoria. She and I are members of DWF (Digital Wedding Forum) and I think she's brilliant!

Aaaaw, Petra, you'll make me blush! It's great to have you on board.

Can we see the yellow bucket now Petra??

Aw, yeah, go on, at least as your profile picture Petra!

See, don't you feel much more at home now!!!! :D

Yeeeeees!! I feel so much more relaxed now, when I can hide under my yellow bucket! :D

The story about the bucket is kind of fun. One of the most talented guys I know is known as "Buckethead" and I second shot a wedding with him this summer in Canada. He told me to bring a bucket for us to have a photo taken of us both in buckets. He had a blue one and I a yellow one (the Swedish colors). And on the forum we're a member of, we posted the photo. And I started to use part of the image as my avatar.

But with a bucket on my head, I don't really become as good as him. I'm just good looking in a bucket, that's all. :D

Here's real mug - without the bucket:
