PC to Mac Export

Dear all,

I've searched through pages and pages but can't find what I'm looking for but I'm sure I won't have been the first to ask this question.

Migrating LR2 PC to LR2 Mac - could you point me in the right direction for info regarding this please?

Hi Ian!

LR is cross platform. Just copy your files over to your Mac, and LR should be fine!

Just remember to copy your image files as well. If you keep the directory structure the same the transition should be seamless.

Hi Geoff,

I have a folder structure thus:

Photos
Lightroom
Sub Folder
Sub Folder
Sub Folder
Sub Folder
etc.
etc.

All the photos I want to migrate are within the Lightroom top level photo.
My Lightroom catalogue is in the \Lightroom\Photos folder or something similar.

The folder structure on the Mac is slightly different, I think its Pictures\Lightroom\sub folders, but I don't have many in photos in there at the moment.

Can I copy the pc folder structure across, replace the lightroom catalogue on the mac with the pc version, reimport the existing photos on the mac, then resynchronise? The main thing I'm concerned about is the changes I've made to the raw files, that they are migrated across also. Does this make sense?

You're going nicely until sync. Move the folder structure across exactly, replace the LR catalogue on the Mac with the one from the PC, right click the folders in LR and point them to where the folders are on the Mac.

Thanks very much for that. The migration was painless :D Really appreciate everyone's advice.
