Hi everyone

Started getting an extremely annoying problem just lately, and I'm not aware of having changed anything to cause this ... I use print my wedding previews as contact sheets suing LR 1.4 and during the last three or four jobs have started getting some of the images printing out as a flat dull green block, with Out of Memory in red printed across it - just one or two images out of twelve per A4 sheet, and not on every sheet either - I'm wasting loads of paper and time. I've tried selecting as few as 24 images, on 2 sheets, and still got the problem.

Any ideas?

Jerry

PS System is 3 or 4 years old now, reasonably powerful but can't remember the specs without looking them up, 3 gigs of RAM installed, but I didn't used to get this problem a few months ago.

Hello, Jerry,

Is it Mac or PC?
Which Operational System?
Being a little more detailed could help pinpoint your problem faster.

Hi everyone

I did a bit of searching through Google for this issue, finding just one reference to this particular problem but numerous to other OOM messages, and in many cases the issue had been solved by closing LR and restarting .... so gave that a try and lo and behold it seems to have worked!

I've had OOM erros too, Checking out that link worried me as brian + gry attempted it and got a load of problems.
I actually was unsure how to do it and and without clear instructions (clearer than Microsoft website) and without others feeding back their positives following this mod i would be very uneasy trying it on my PC

Any futher recommendations? (I'd dearly love to know why my PC builder didn't mention that 4GB was actually pointless!)

Yes. it scared me a bit too! I'm steering clear, especially as closing and restarting LR seemed to solve the issue! I know that's not ideal, but if the few seconds that takes next time I've got a 2' page preview set to print out, then I'll do it, instead of letting the job run while I'm out only to find most of the pages are unusable!
