Hi there

I'm on version 13.2 and I've been holding off updating due the various tales about the perils of doing so.

However, this morning I got a pop up message telling me my version was out of date and I had to upgrade if I wanted to carry on syncing with the cloud.

Should I upgrade to the latest version or one of the intermediate upgrades.

I'm on PC, Win 10, everything else up to date.

The more info link in the screenshot has out of date information.

TIA

I agree with Johan. The vast majority of LrC users are not experiencing problems syncing especially since v13.3 was released. Any perils encountered are most likely due to the user created situation in the first place. I have been on the latest versions as soon as they came out and have not experienced any of the reported issues.

Do keep in mind that going from V13.2 to any version that use the new sync process will require that LrC to resync the metadata of all of your images in the cloud and this can take some time. Be patient and let LrC do its thing. Also the unnecessary setting to Automatically write XMP back your image files should be turned off as this too slows down performance when syncing.

Update: I upgraded to 14.1 today and it went without a hitch. Haven't come across any issues.

The sync seems to be a lot faster and more reliable.
