Online Monitor Calibration site

Is there a good one I can use? I did many searches over the last few days and last night and although I foudn a few, they seem to vary in methods and advise.

I know this method is never going to be as good as hardware calibration but at the moment, purchasing one is ont on my list.

I mainly use the sites to calibrate contrast and brightness as I know that my monitor is still bright as you may know from my other post "2/3 exposure increase in LR'. Althugh I did some adjustment a few months ago, I know it's still off.

I had a go last night at with the contrast/brightness by looking at a pattern of blacks to white and I almost got it. How do I know I got it right? My monitor seem so much darker and the colour seem slight off? Maybe too much contrast used? I jsut walked away........my eyes were going screwy!!

I too looked at my display Colour Management tab via the Control Panel, and I changed from the default Monitor colour management to sRGB. I read I should use 'sRGB' for the monitor. That's using their instructions...I'm confused

Someone just shoot me. So frustrating it's keeping me awake at night!!! Arrgghhh... I'm desperate to get the monitor as right as possible using the free tools but how do I know I'm there?

Hey mate, have you tried your local camera stores to see if they would lend/hire you a calibrator, the ones over here in WA have this facility, otherwise you could try the local camera clubs?
