Hi, does anyone process their raw images in NX Studio? If so, can you recommend a workflow over to LrC? You only get to export images from NEF to TIFF or JPG and prefer to keep the NEFs. I say that because unless I'm misunderstanding how the file formats work, I like to keep all original raw images for later edits. Thanks.

I'm a Nikon user and have tried Nikon Studio NX (Assuming you refer to the Nikon product).
I found it is really superfluous to Lightroom-Classic. It does nothing that Lr-Classic cannot do (with the exception of Nikon proprietary features- D-Lighting?). I find that Nikon Studio NX will not read DNG type files so that was a big disadvantage for my many DNG files (before I started using native NEFs).
There really is no 'workflow' between NX and LrC- it is more 'one or the other', and for new Nikon users I might suggest it as a free introduction to the editing world.
Both LrC and NX work non-destructively and exporting TIFs or JPGs is needed to embed edits in a new derivative file.

Gotcha. If it's a matter of one or the other then I don't see the point. If you're a portrait or wedding photographer I do see a benefit because the colors are to me, a lot more accurate, but it's minor for what I do. Thank you.

I would not recommend any other Nikon user to use NX Studio It does not have the features that you need to produce more that just a basic edit. I've need a Lightroom user longer than I've been a Nikon shooter.
I recommend forgetting NX Studio and simply import your RAW NEFs into Lightroom Classic and develop a workflow around LrC that meets your needs. Every camera manufacturer supplies an app to edit their RAW image files. Usually the software is developed by some Japanese company that you likely have not heard of. And it might be the same company that does Nikon, Canon and Sony.

Adobe has a e=reputation for quality and inovation, Who ever made NX Studio does not.

The only reason I use NX studio, is occasionally I what to check the focus points in lots of pictures I shot with my Nikon camera, I can quickly do this in this software, rather that use a pulgin.

The Plugin that has been in recent conversations works great and you do not need to leave LrC to check focus points

I've been using LrC for well over 15 years and don't plan to abandon it, but wanted to play around with Custom Picture Profiles, so I downloaded NX Studio. After comments from others in my forums I visit, I see there's no way to integrate those profiles into LrC, so I used LrC to mimic them and will just continue without NX Studio. Thank you.

I didn't know you could do this! I use Olympus software for the same reason. Thanks.
