NVIDIA Graphics Cards

Equipment: Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 - Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4'GHz -4GB RAM - Lightroom 2 files on external HD - NVIDIA GeForce 84'' graphics card (recently updated driver) - plenty of hard drive space.
My main problems lie with the Adjustment Brush (I use Lightroom 2 mainly for its Develop module.)
I've tried every workround I've seen on this forum and others, and still I have problems similar to those mentioned by many users on the various forums. I've watched every video tutorial with envy - wishing I could use Lightroom 2 in the same way.
NVIDIA cards seem to figure quite a lot when problems are discussed.
I wonder has anyone replaced their NVIDIA card with another make and found their difficulties solved?

Welcome aboard Ted, what exactly is it you can't do that you ought to be able to?
Being a Mac user I haven't kept up with that sort of problem and only recall something from way back.

Hi I use Nvidia cards in my desktop and laptop, desktop is ok with the latest driver software but my sony laptop would not run L/R 2 with the 76''gt update. After many a night trying to find the problem why the brush tool etc would not work i uninstalled the driver and reinstalled the Sony Nvidia driver and BINGO L/R2 aok. After contacting Sony thay told me it was due to the GUI settings on the card, i.e Sony use a different GUI setting than Nvidia, so are you in the same boat so to speak...

Hi

May have a fix for you, well it cured the same issue for me.
Open the NVIDIa Control Panel, select Manage 3d settings, then with the the Programme Settings tab selected add the LR exe file to the list of progs.

No idea why it worked.

Hi Chris - I wonder if you can tell us what settings you chose in the "I would like to use the following 3D settings" dialogue box.

I know zippy pow about what these settings mean.
