One of the things I've been wishing for was a place to put notes in the metadata section. I use the comments section for presentations and often wish I also had a place to make a note about the image for myself for later reference. Ideally it would be nice to be able to leave a couple of sentences rather than a quick twit. One of the ways I would use this is to make comments about the lighting I used to achieve a particular effect, notes about the particular location where the image was shot, ideas about when I should try to return to reshoot an image, etc. I keep a catalog of images I want to re-shoot. Often they are remote areas where I find an interesting composition but know that I need to come back at a certain time of year or under certain conditions. It would be nice to be able to note these. There are many other uses for notes associated with images and I think this would be a very beneficial feature which I hope wouldn't be too difficult to implement.

I love my LR and use it constantly! Many thanks to the LR team.

Thank you! That could be helpful in the short-term though I really would love it if the data would be written into XMP for longer term storage of the information.

In grid mode, in the right hand pane, go to metadata. Then select "large caption" from the drop down menu. You can put pretty much anything you want there. Gordon
