Non-congruant crop?

I've noticed that LR automatically crops in the same orientation (landscape or portrait) as the photograph's; 75% of the time this orientation assumption is correct. However, there are times when I have a landscape photo but I want to crop a section of it in a portrait ratio, or visa versa.

How can I force LR to do this? I can rotate the crop tool, but only to a max of 45deg.

Yes, but it is tricky. Take your mouse and grab one of the corner handles and push it or drag it horizontally until the ratio "flips" then drag to suit.

Thanks I did get it after a while, but; yup, that's a pain. I had messed with those "handles" many times before posting and no joy.

It seems easier if you drag one corner outside of the image area, I usually drag out to the right and up to go portrait or down and left to flip back to landscape.
