No visible images

A mate has just purchased Lightroom and is trying to run it on an old computer. 1.53ghz and 224mb of ram. We tried to load it on and everything was ok but on opening Lightroom then importing an image all we got was a grey box. I tried tto export one of these grey boxes nd viewing it in windows it was ok but no image visible in Lightroom. :oops:
Could this be an issue with the amount of ram??
I have also reloade the program with no change.

Hope someone out there can help

On my shrinkwrapped, retail v1.', the system requirements are:

XPSP2 minimum
Pentium 4 Minimum
768 MB minimum (1GB+ recommended)
1 GB hard-drive available
1'24x768 display minimum
CDROM drive

sounds like you might be running short on horspower.
