"No Photos Selected" Message

I have encountered a situation that has me confused. One particular folder of RAW images, taken in 2''8, shows 314 images. When I select this folder, the central viewing area shows a "no photos selected" message. No images show up in the film strip across the bottom. When I hold the cursor over the folder name, the first image file shows up in the navigator screen but that's it. The files are intact on the hard drive and can be viewed using Windows. All other folders display properly. I have not, to my knowledge, changed any settings. I haven't moved any files. Any suggestions?

Make sure you don't have any filters applied. In Lr 2.x, filters are local to the current view (folder or collection) , and are persistent. That is, the filter will remain applied to that view, even if you don't revisit it for extended periods of time. Although, when I try this experiment, I see 'No photos match the filter...', as opposed to the message you received. So this may not explain the problem.

Thanks, Brad. That cured it! I must have inadvertently applied "custom filter" to the folder. The images are back! Thanks, again! Robert
