I recently had to redo my intire catalog as just before I could do my weekly backup my exHD packed up.. A bit of a bad 2 month as I lost 3 HD since Dec2018. After I "pointed" LR to the new hd and merged what was on the latest backup with the new one LR serched for 12H strait for faces. found about 800 unknown faces and that was it so far
The last two imports, had virtually all portraits, but LR can't find any faces in the folder. neither "latest import" nor in the actual folder. Pictures that exsisted in the folder before are all there and showing.
any idea what I might have switched off accidentally??

Ok I found something!!! I used the latest LR backup i had safed on a exHD to start the new catalog. If I open with this no peoples view. However if I open LR with default catalog on laptop I get a peoples view welcome screen!

How do I merge the two catalogs that the laptop catalog, (no pics) becomes the main catalog, and the exHD catalog 70k+ pics keeps all info and is working with face recog.??
