no develop presets in my Presets folder

I have a list of Adobe's pre-made presets in the Develop Module of Lightroom 2.4 and, as I understand it, I should be able to hover over the title and the image in the Navigation window should reveal what the preset looks like with that image. This doesn't happen. I can see the settings on the right panel change as I hover over the various presets, but no change in the image. I tried importing some other presets, but experience the same problem. Could someone please help this beginner? Thanks.

You can see it but not on the large image. In your Left Hand Panel Set is a Panel Called Navigator. The preset preview appears in the preview window in the Navigator Panel. You may have to expand the panel to see it.

It would be nice (hardware intensive) to see it update the big image but not today, alas.

As I mentioned in the post, the change does not appear in the image in the Navigation window on the left.

Sorry about that. I misread. If you leave your mouse over the preset for a long period of time (1' seconds or so) does the preview update?
