I have Lightroom 6 and had no problems with processing raw shots from D750. Now have new D850 but LR6 states "no support for the D850 raw files". What do I need to do?

You can dowload the dng converter from the adobe website and Covert your raw files to dng format. After that you can import the files in LR

Or, or, 0r. You could update to LR 7 Classic. Of course, that's a monthly subscription instead of a one-time purchase for the upgrade.

Actually, the D850 has been supported since LR6.13, so all the OP has to do is the free update of his current LR6 to 6.13 or better still to 6.14, which is the last version 6 update. The update can be downloaded from here: Download Photoshop Lightroom - scroll down and expand the Lightroom 6 section, then select the appropriate update from the Mac section.
