I am having difficulty in changing the date format in the library. After having entered over 3'''' photos I chose as my date format YYYY/August 17.
I realize that the library lists in each year the months alphabetically starting with April, August, December etc. instead of chronologically 1 (January), 2 (February) etc. Therefore I have to change to YYYY/'8/17.
How do I do this?

Hi Reiner, welcome to the forum!

Ouch, is all I can say! You can change your format from this time forward using the import dialog, but there isn't currently a quick way to do so for existing files. You can rename folders using the right-click menu in Lightroom, but it may take you a while if you have hundreds of folders. A quicker solution might be to create the '8 folder inside 2''7, and drag the August 17 folder into that '8 folder, and repeat for the others. It's probably quicker than renaming all of the dated folders.

You made my day. Just finished renaming each folder, which took me about 2 hours. I knew that I can have different date formats when importing and should have mentioned this. But it was after the fact.
