Newbe needing advice?

Howdy,

Background: Using a new Dell XPS w/4GB Ram & 75' GB hard drive, with LCD 24" flat screen monitor along with Spyder Pro 3 for calibration gifted to me by wife along with LR 1.'. I have Elelments 5 and am self taught there. Began raw captures two weeks ago and have been keeping late hours with my new girlfriend.

Problem at hand: I would like to globally changed the setup of the copyright notice. I already have used my legal full name. I know how to get symbol, but every time I try to change the preset the original name is never deleted? What to do?

Brenton, Welcome to LR Forums.

You'll need to create a 'metadata preset'. You indicate you're using LR 1.' (might want to upgrade to the latest 1.x version, which is 1.4.1, and free).

In Library module, in the right hand panel, just below the Metadata header, is a field called 'Preset'. Click on the double headed arrow to open the drop down. Click 'Edit Presets.....' This should bring up a dialog box for the 'Custom' Preset. Using the drop down at the top of the dialog you can choose anotherr preset (if available). In this case, probably just edit the Custom preset, to include the copyright info, and any other pertinent info you'd like to appear. IMPORTANT: before clicking done, remember to save the new preset by clicking the drop down at the top again, and selecting 'Save current settings as new preset...'. Give it a name and save it.

Now, any time you run an import, this preset will be available in the Import dialog. Once you use it the first time, it will remain as the default, until you change it again.

Thanks for the quick response! I will check the procedure out tomorrow and will probably have more questions, like: how to get a free version of LR 1.4.1? I'm really old school and is it possible to get something for free nowadays? Let me know, I'll be indebted and can only repay with more questions! Thanks for looking and sharing!
