New version 2.2 rendering lagg on scroll

My old version lghtrm 1.4 as I scrolled through a batch of images everything was sharp no matter how fast I flicked through my images making editing quick and easy.
Now on the new version 2.2 a moment or two is needed to achieve clarity just when you need instant sharpness to check focus etc does anyone know why this is?

Try the 2.3 RC available from labs.adobe.com - there were some memory issues in 2.2.

And once you've done that, let us know if you're still having trouble, and we'll run through the other options.

Very helpful thank you Victoria. Have installed the 2.3 and much improved, still sometimes a little behind, don't know if that can be improved maybe their are other options?

That's good to hear. Where exactly are you seeing the slowness? Library module or Develop module?

Actually its not much better
the slowness is where I have a file of images up in LR to edit.
I wish to go through the whole file with images as large as possible to check focus action etc over many many images perhaps hundreds.
I want to view each image Very briefly basically scrolling but actually using my direction keys on keyboard.
This is the whole point of LR for me more important than edit controll (tho good as well)I always used to use adobe bridge but again the upgraded version had this exact same simple problem any ideas:roll:?

Yep, that makes it much clearer. Ok, you want to render 1:1 previews before you start, and you want to go through them in Loupe mode (Library module) not Develop module. And don't be tempted to start tweaking colours, otherwise it'll have to re-render the previews. To render the preview, select all in Grid view and go to Library menu > Previews > Render 1:1 Previews. And go make a cuppa. It's SO worth it.

In catalog settings you select how long you want to keep the 1:1 previews so that you don't have them clogging your HD unnecessarily.

Thanks guys thats great and helpful and works.. but really if thats the only way and I have to wait for each file of images to render b4 each edit I may as well stick to LR 1.3 that shows me sharp images from the off without messing about which is my useage. I can see little advantage in new versions for me

That behaviour hasn't changed between versions Jethro, so I can't help but wonder why you weren't seeing the same lag in 1.3. I'd bet that you had it set to render 1:1 previews in the import dialog, which you could do again now.

I think the previews have always behaved this way, however my memory is not always accurate!!

you may well be right. should I have in prefs import jpgs set to full size?..will try more later many thanks again tho for you help
