I use LR Classic on my Mac desktop and have synced with LR mobile on my iPhone and iPad for years. Photos taken with my iPhone automatically synced with both my iPad and my Mac desktop. I am not referring to using Collections. On my desktop there was a category named Lightroom Mobile Sync above the category named Lightroom Originals. This system stopped working sometime mid-2023. Is anyone familiar with this? I spent time with Adobe on the phone several times trying to get this to work again and was never successful.

Now, I'm just trying to find a system that will work for me. My iPhone photos go to LR Mobile on my iPhone and then to Adobe Cloud and back to my iPad with no problems. My dilemma is how to get them on my Mac desktop. I have tried downloading from iCloud. Is that the best option? I have also considered using a cable to move photos from the iPhone directly to my Mac desktop. I recently heard that was the best way to get the best resolution. If I do that won't I wind up with doubles in Adobe's cloud?

Any suggestions?

There seam to be problems the prevent Lightroom Classic syncing with the cloud. If the images are getting to the cloud, the you should be able to turn on Sync and have them show up. If the sync status says there is nothing to sync AND you know there are images in the Adobe Cloud that have not sync’d, then the following has worked for me.
1. Exit Lightroom
2. Log out of the Adobe Creative Cloud Application Manager then exit that app.
3. Reboot the computer.
4 Log back into Adobe Creative Cloud Application Manager
5. Restart LrC
6. Turn on sync if it is not already on.
