Apologies for the question, I am struggling with post Covid fatigue and brain fog.

Moved to a new PC which went well but I forgot to move the Mobile photos.

I've gotten myself into a circular reference trying to sync the photos to the new PC.

I thought I downloaded the images to a new folder, they appear in the catalog, but when I try to view the images I get "The file could not be found" message, and there are no images in the folder I created.

How can I fix it? I cant find where the downloaded images went...

Select one of the missing photos, right-click and choose "Go to Folder in Library". That will show you the folder that LrC thinks the image is in, and if you hover over the folder name in the Folders Panel you will get the full path listed. If you can access that folder on the old PC, copy it to that same location on the new PC and that should resolve the issue. If you no longer have access to the old PC, do you have a backup of the folder on a different drive?

BTW, if the images are still in the cloud but are "missing" in LrC, it's not possible to re-download the images from the cloud into LrC. In that scenario the only option would be to export the images as Original from LrD to a local folder, then relink the missing images to that new folder. That will work if the images in the cloud are originals, which should be the case if these are "mobile photos".

Hi Jim
I've copied the images directly from LrD to a new folder on the Laptop .
I've also pointed to this folder in the Lightroom Sync Tab.
Do I need to update the location for these images individually for each image in "All Synced Photographs" in the LrC Catalog ?
The new folder on the Latop shows in the LrC Catalog, but only shows the images I have manually linked to the new location .
There are 3,750 images in total so I'm not so keen to link them manually if I dont need to... maybe I should review the contents and cull
All photos in LrD are originals, taken mostly on a camera and are either Nikon NEF or JPG. The NEF files have the XMP file attached.
Thanks again Jim

Are those 3750 "missing" mobile photos all listed in the same (missing) folder in LrC? If so, you can relink the missing folder to the new folder and LrC will automatically relink all the image files as well.
