at what cost, performance-wise, when running LR4?

I need a new MacBook, 13", non-retina, it will have 8GB of RAM, but I'm hesitating between the two chips, i5 2.5GHz
or i7 2.9GHz. There's a 300$ difference, money I'd rather put in my L lens acquisition program...

Either would be light years ahead of my current 2008 MacBook running LR3 with a measly 1GB of memory...

Toughts, opinions? Thanks

Just my 2 cents, but what is the file size? I'm using a D80 (10mp) on an i3 with 8 megs of ram, lr 4.4 and 5 beta. Works fine for me, but I'm not a pro. Don't plan on getting a new camera body anytime soon.

I have recently purchased an ASUS notebook with an i7 processor, nVidea 2G card, 8gRAM. It totally flies compared to my last computer which had an i5 processor, an nVidea 1 G card and 8G RAM. Go for the faster processor.
