I am in the process of setting up my new Windows 11 computer. I have followed the steps in the ebook (on Moving Lightroom) and have everything backed up/ copied to an external hard drive. Now I have two questions as I prepare to get things setup on the new computer and copied over.

1. I am in the middle of finishing a 150 page Blub Book using the Book module. The version of LRC that I have been using is 13.0.1 and so my catalog will require an upgrade to work with the current version of LRC. I would like to wait to upgrade the catalog until I have finished the book. Can I install LRC 13.0.1 instead of the current one when I do the initial installation from the Creative Cloud app? I’ve read about how to roll back to a previous version, but wasn’t sure how that works when nothing (not even the Creative Cloud app) is yet installed on my new system.

2. One of the steps in the ebook on moving LRC to a new computer is finding missing photos. I did that and have discovered that there are about 150 photos that are missing that I must have just deleted as I didn’t need them/bad photos, etc.. Is there a way to tell LRC to just “never mind”/forget about those missing photos and remove them from the catalog?

Thanks for the help!

This is a metadata mismatch, a harmless error that you often get for no apparent reason. It means that Lightroom thinks that the metadata in the catalog do not match metadata written to disk (as XMP file or in the file header). You can even get it if you do not write changes to XMP. You can turn off this warning completely in View Options and ignore it, or select the images, click on the icon and in the dialog that comes up choose to overwrite the disk metadata.
I “believe” that you can install previous versions for RGB creative cloud menu. Other can probably comment on that better than I

Of the 150 missing photos. If they are permanently gone, you can simple y select them in the LrC catalog and choose remove to remove them from the catalog. This is akin to the other delete process except the underlying files are not there to delete.

Should be able to install 13.0 on new computer without a problem.

You can install 13.0 using the current CC App.

Thanks everyone. It appears to be working just fine and boy, is my new system an upgrade from my 7-year-old one!

I have copied everything to my new computer and installed Lightroom Classic (13.0.1). I needed to point the new installation to the storage spot for the photos but that was easy to do. But now, when I go into the collection of photos that I am working on for my Blurb Book, they all have the same error flags in the upper right corner.

I am unsure what these icons mean. Can anyone shed light on the meaning of these icons and what I might have missed in the moving process that would cause this?

Thank you!
