I have been shooting all raw for several months now, but I do have older sets which I shot raw+jpg due to my fear of transitioning. I also had duplicate jpgs, which I was working on deleting the other day, when I noticed that my raw pics actually said "nef+jpg".. Since I am comfortable with the workflow of LR and thus leaving just raw files (when I shot raw), is there a way to separate those "raw+jpg" files, so I can delete the jpgs and simplify my collection?

As you deleted the JPEGs it is just showing raw+JPEG because it was imported that way. The JPEGs are no more there even if you have this indication. Lightroom does not update this information at the moment. If you did not set the preference to "Treat JPEGs as separate photos" in the preferences, you can safely remove those JPEGs with Finder without Lightroom showing missing images. The the "raw+JPEG" notice will stay as I said above.

You can put a "Feature Request" from the link above to have Lightroom update in such cases.

Thanks for the answers folks :)
