How do I get a file size: Max. of 7'' x 7'' pixels and 2MB? Anyone who can guide me please? I dont' think I need to export the image in PSE, which I did sometimes. There must be a way to do this in LR.

What's the actual specification for the image?
The two specifications are not compatible with each other, unless each represents an indivdual maximum, and even then, the 2 MB is 'stupid', given 7'' x 7''.

This is the exact info from the magazine to submit photos: Upload File Size: Max. of 7'' x 7'' pixels and 2MB. But I have a look at that other thread you mentioned. Thanks

In the Export dialog, in the Image Sizing section, check the Resize to Fit box, choose Long Edge, and 7'' pixels.
Don't worry about the 2MB limit. At 7''x7'', you'll never get there.

I just want to re-force Brad's comments. Let me throw out some numbers: 7'' x 466= about 66 KB( very small file); 45'' x 3'''= 1 MB. For the magazine to state the max size of 7'' x 7'' but not to exceed 2MB( does not make sense). Just follow Mark's instruction and play with the numbers.

It would be nice if LR gave some indication of output file size for JPEGs, as the PS JPEG quality dialog does. Of course, the fact that we are usually exporting multiple images from LR rules this out.
What I do when I output images that must have a maximum image size and file size is to export from LR as TIFF files of the given image size. I then use another program (in my case Faststone Image Viewer) that shows the estimated size of JPEG files to resave as JPEG with the highest quality that fits in the maximum file size.

I guess you can add as feature request. What I have done as work around, I export one image to my C: pictures> then I look at the properties and see the size. Anybody out there have any better ideas?
