The Navigator thumbnail keeps up with edits in the Develop Module on RAW files and every file type except in the case of Lightroom Enhanced DNG files. Is this the way Adobe is treating the Enhanced DNG files? Is this a new bug or perhaps a feature reduction?

Enhanced DNG as in super res ones? I'm wondering if file sizes are just too big to keep up with.

Yup, the super-res ones. But I don't think it related to file size. I have some much larger tif and psb files that are much larger 1.5 to 2.5 GB and the develop thumbnail always keeps up with he develop edits.

Besides physical size (GB) consider the pixel size. Super rez will quadruple the number of pixels.

Pixel size also been considered. Here's a specific example...
  1. Up-rezed a 7360 x 4912 RAW file from my Nikon D850 to 14720 x 9824. Develop thumbnail doesn't reflect Develop edits.
  2. Edited up-rezed file in PS. It was a complex edit which ended up being a ~9 GB 14720 x 9824 PSB file which is synchronized with my LR Library.
  3. Any Develop edits are immediately reflected in the Develop thumbnail.
