I name the photo when importing from SD card into Lightroom. Then create a collections for publishing to Facebook, name the album and photo, then publish to Facebook. No name appears on the Facebook post, just a title like JPG and a number. Easy enough to describe the photo in the Facebook comment box below the photo, but would be nice to have a name or description above the photo which was added before publishing to
Facebook instead of a meaningless JPG number. And what is the purpose of creating and naming an album in LR if it doesn't show anywhere except in LR?

Anyone know what I am missing, or is is there no way to name before publishing?

In the Facebook Publish Services setup dialog, you can set what to use as the FB caption - you could change it to use the Metadata panel > Title or Caption field instead of the filename.
