I have been working on a presentation for a local photography group for the past month or so and it ramped up over the past two weeks as the Feb 7th presentation date came close.. My work was limited to Lightroom as I was doing a slide presentation and decided that for a number of reasons I was going to use a web gallery to present.

The presentation was a hit. The choice of using the web gallery was a mistake. The images were too small, though the preview panel was useful.

The problem.. I am on version 2.2 and I had at least half a dozen lock-ups, and restarts EVERY time I sat to work on the presentation.. I know...it was suggested that I revert to the earlier version and the v2.3 RC came out not too long ago, but I was so deeply entrenched in the presentation I could run the risk of something going wrong with going back to the older version.

Most of the lock ups were during localized editting, keywording, and switching between the grid in the library and develop module. Also, when printing I would get memory errors, and even had LR display all my images in a mirror version. I could only print one image at a time..multiple prints, even if of the same image, would result in a lock-up. Refreshing the web gallery...ugh, don't ask..

So, the presentation is done.. How is v2.3 looking? should I opt for v2.3 or is it still recommended to go back to v2.1?

I'm still hooked on LR, just starting to get frustrated!

Try LR2.3RC! It is way better than 2.2.

I have not found any issues with LR 2.3. I also think you would have been safe updating in the middle of your work. I have updated each version since LR was in beta several years ago and have not had any problem at all with either current or previous work.

Thanks all.. Yes Scott... I have done the updates immediately after release as well, but interestingly, part of my presentation discussed Murphey's Law..so I didn't want to temp fate. I'll do the update when I get home!
