My pics are blue , help !!!!!

I am so new at this. I have a D3'' and do not know how to use it. My pics are horrible and this is of my son's event and I need to save these. Anybody that can teach me how to recover these would be so nice. I apreciate your help with my frustrations.

Also how do I find the url of my pics so I can post one for you to see ?

Where are the images now? Do you have them online somewhere, already? Did you shoot them in raw or JPG?

camera settings

I shoot in jpg. I have them on my pc but can upload somewhere, not sure where. I set the wb to the light bulb thinking it was for outside. Where should I upload the pics to so you can see it ?

Hi freespirit! Welcome to the forums! When you have a minute please fill out your signature using the USER CP link above.

When you say your pictures are blue do you mean there is a blue color cast? if so the easiest way to start is to go to the Develop module and use the white balance tool. Click on something in the image that should be a neutral gray. That should bring you a long way towards fixing the blue cast. From there you can play with the temperature and tint sliders till things look better.

Once you get one image looking good you can select the others that were taken under similar lighting conditions and sync the white balance from the first to the additional images.

You need to upload your image somewhere to get a URL. If you don't have your own Web site a service such as Flickr would work.

thank you. I will try photobucket. I am not sure how to sync them all, like you mention. There is a blue cast over yes. I had the wb set to the light bulb, my mistake. I really am going to cry as this learning curve is steep. let me upload to photobucket.

okay the only pics I need help with is the ones with the bikes and the cub scouts. Thanks. Your help is taking me over a huge mountain of a learning curve and I appreciate all the help I can get.

Good work, however if you had shot raw files it would be very easy and give a better result.

You could also synchronise the settings to all the files to correct them all easily!

I'm not going to take the time to edit it, but for the moment you can try:

(1) Select the image.
(2) Press W.
(3) Click on somebody's sock (I'm assuming they're supposed to be white).

Now it should look much better. You might now need to adjust the tone; you can try Command-U (Control-U on Windows) for Auto Tone (or just press the Auto Tone button).

this pic seems normal to me and I wanted you to see the correct color of the uniform so the others can be fixed the same as this. Thanks.

That seems easier than what I was doing. Thanks. I guess i need to keep playing and I will get the hang of it.

Select the images you want to change in the film strip (in the develop module) with an image with the road as the most selected ( the one in the main box). Make sure Autosync is showing in the bottom right panel (if not cmd/click sync and it will change to autosync) then select the Eyedropper tool and click on a patch of road that would be grey. They should all change.

:) Extra Credit assignment:

Once you get the color/tone acceptable, based on the excellent advice above, you may want to consider getting the image horizontal/verticals correct as well. You can do that with Lr's Crop/Align tool, also found in the Develop Module, (press R) to enable it.

Oh! And as no one made the suggestion and as Freespirit is new to both Lightroom and his digital camera, I suggest you Freespirit to keep the white balance on "Auto" in your camera. At least for now... The camera will make an acceptable job most of the time.
