My basic adjustments panel went hidden. It took a while, but I learned where to get the panel to re-appear. But ever since this incident occurred, the sliders on that panel will not work; the sliders on every other adjustment panel still work fine. Shortly before this happened, I downloaded the latest update. Is there a connection here?

Most likely you did not make the Basic panel re-appear, but activated one of the three local adjustment tools (adjustment brush, radial filter, graduated filter). These have very similar sliders, but these don’t work before you applied the tool. To make sure you have the Basic panel, right-click in an empty space of one of the visible panel headers. You will get a pop-up menu with the option to toggle the visibility of panels.
