Multiple imports at once??

I thought the engineers would have figured out how to allow multiple imports at the same time.

Specifically, whereby if one has 4'' images on a card, the frist 1'' from a landscape shoot and the rest modelling shots (to use 2 extreme examples), if i want to be able to import these into to 2 separate folders, i can't? I have to only select the first 1'', wait for them to finish importing before i can start the whole import process all over again.

this to me, slows down the workflow.

The new import dialogue is great, but there should be an ability to have multiple source and multiple destinations. Once you have selected the first 1'', they can no longer be ticked/selected for the next destination folder.

The way you can do it is to select only the first set, double click the folder name to rename it and start the import. Immediately start a second import selecting all the rest again renaming the destination folder and the two imports will run concurently.

Really Denis? I didn't think 2 imports could run concurrently, but I haven't checked recently.

I can't run 2 concurrently, hence the request.

I think it makes real sense to be able to choose multiple destinations for one card import. The import dialogue already grey's out images already imported to catalogue, so it could easily grey them out once a selection is made.

The closest I've seen, and maybe it's what Denis is seeing, is you can start a second import, after the first import has completed, but while it's still rendering. This shows two progress bars simultaneously, and kind of looks like two imports are running. Like VB, I haven't actually tried that again in 3.'b.

This is it Brad. One effectively have to wait for the previews rendering to start the second one. One thing I didn't checked yet tough is if I can import from my different card readers simultaneously. But I know, the OP do have the different sets on the same card...
