Multiple File Deletions Very Slow

The issue I'm having is that deleting multiple files from the disk is an unimaginably slow process. Anything more than one at a time can take a minute or more. Anyone else having this issue or know of a fix?

I've always thought it was slow as well, since the early days. But not as slow you're experiencing.

Have you got the Windows Power Toy for viewing raw files loaded? That is known to cause problems on XP, but I don't know offhand whether it's used for Vista. You could also try restarting the computer before doing a big deleting session.
