Wondering how I can set up One Masters folder and access it with both my desktop and my laptop. I'm getting my photos so mixed up between two sets of Masters and two different catalogs. Maybe I'm being silly and I wish I weren't constantly changing from computer to computer.

Should I try to stick to the system I've seen in tutorials, e.g., Desktop is Main catalog with Masters on external drive; then import from "travel catalog" on laptop into the Main catalog and move whatever Masters I have attached to that travel catalog to the External Masters folder.

Maybe I am overthinking this -- but what a mess I am in now with duplicates all over the place and an unwieldy catalog on my desktop. Suggestions? tom

You can use an external drive and store the images on that. Then you can hook-up that drive to the computer you want to work on. Remember that Lightroom stores its edits and metadata in the catalog. If you use two different catalogs, then your edits will not carry over between the computers. It’s better to use one single catalog and store it on the external drive as well.

Use LRCC 1.x on the auxiliary machines. Keep the Master catalog on the Master computer and let LR CC Sync to the cloud and back down to the Master.
