Multiple catalogs

Hey all. Not really sure how to deal with this issue. Hopefully somebody can help.

I plan on doing a 6-month travel and I'm bring a Dell Mini loaded with Lightroom to store, edit, and upload my pics during my travels. Now how do I merge this catalog with my main rig catalog when I get back home 6 months later?

My main rig has 2 years worth of pictures and edits in its catalog and I don't have the space on the mini to bring along all those pics. I figured starting a new catalog on the mini would be best.

I'm sorry, I am so jealous of someone going on a 6-month trip that I refuse to help.

But if I was a nicer person, I would tell you that when you return home, you simply transfer the catalog and pictures from your laptop to your "main rig", and then from within Lightroom there, do a File->Import from Catalog. This will combine the "trip" catalog into the "main" catalog.
