My workflow from my LR start has been to upload my Raw photos via a card reader to the C drive on my old computer. At the same time I would make a backup copy on my external HD. I have 522 gbs of photos on the C drive of my old computer & 468gbs on the external so I've missed copying a few. Everything is under the same file name and both copies are under the same parent folder name. On my new computer I want to use the D drive for storage while using C drive for the LR program. A friend downloaded LR Classic to the new C drive & copied the backup photos from the external drive to the new D drive rather than the ones from my old HD that I have always used for LR . He also linked the external drive copied photos in the new LR. The photos are in the new LR but without any edits. The Ircat file from my old computer hasn't been copied to the new computer yet. How do I proceed? Do I delete the new LR and all the photos on the new computer and start again? Do I delete the photos, copy the ircat folder and then copy all the photos from my old HD? Is there a way to keep the backup photos, load the .ircat file and then copy just the photos that are not duplicates (about 50 gbs) from the old HD? Thanks!
