Hi,
I am purchasing a new M1 iMac and just want to clarify a question please.
All of my current images for Lightroom and Lightroom catalog etc are stored on an external HD
and i would like to know is when i set up the new iMac with the new install of Lightroom can i just plug the
HD in and tell Lightroom where the files are on the HD or am i missing something that i need to do.
I just want to sort things before i go ahead and maybe make a mistake

Regards Adrian

While the Lightroom Queen instructions works for both Windows and Mac, Setting up a new Mac is best handle by using the Migration Assistant to completely move apps and data from user on the old computer to the new Mac.
I have uses this fore every Mac that I have owned without any difficulties. Most recently with my M1 iMac in July.

Migration Assistant is found in your Utility folder on the Old Mac . Migration is one of the first questions asked when you first boot up a new Mac.

Essentially yes, because they're all on the same drive and the drive name won't change. There's just the extra files like presets etc. that you might want to carry over, which you can either do manually using the instructions in the eBook (if you like a nice squeaky clean fresh install like I do) or using the migration tool that Clee prefers.
