I need help with getting my images organized in the library. Here's my problem. I want to be able to just drag and drop individual images in the grid view in the library. So that I can just move one image to a different spot in the grid. That's all but I can't figure out how to do it. Does anyone know?

Images can be sorted in various different ways in the Grid view ... but if you want to manually move images into a certain order, I believe this can be done only inside a Collection. To do so, hit T to call up the Toolbar, and then next to Sort, select User Order. Then drag the images into whatever order you would like.

Royia, Welcome to the Forums.

In addition to collections, it can also be done in a folder, but there can be no subfolders in the folder.

User Order as Paige suggested only appears as a menu choice when this criterion is met.

The other standard problem that gets almost everybody the first time, is that you must click on the actual thumbnail image to drag, and not the gray frame(which looks like it's going to work, and then doesn't).

Thanks but what about this?

Thanks guys that's very helpful and i've got it down now. But now that I have the images in the order that I want them I want to renumber them in there new order. So is there a way to batch renumber them in the library so that when I export them they will stay in that order?
