I've been using LR for over a year. Going soon to 2.x as we upgrade our software, but still on 1.4x.
Migrating files is still a headache for me. As LR doesn't show folders it doesn't "see", you can't really reliably move ONLY the folders you want from within LR. It seems to at times grab several folders up the tree and take them too when I didn't ask it to. The only way to find this is to go through file manager after-the-fact and look.
And the only way to clean this up is "outside" of LR meaning LR loses the folder you told it to move. And just now, when I told it to refind and then sync the folder, it 'lost' all the metadata I'd entered. On the 7' images, many of them keyed individually. And no, I hadn't backed up that folder yet.
I"ve got quite a few folders to move into this as I'm in the process of separating my files from the "archives" that my wife and I share.
Any suggestions? I've got some of this down fine, but I have been so frustrated by moving files in or without it.
